Saturday Night Preview: 9/14

9/14: After a series of wild events at Lanco last week, Heath Hehnly came out of the penultimate event as your points leader for the first time in almost 4 months. Hehnly has endured a roller coaster of a year but seems to be putting himself in the position to win another title at Lanco, but things can always turn tonight. Mike Rutherford who had been your points leader is only about 35 points back and still has a shot at the title and Aaron Bollinger sits in third with a very unlikely chance to get to the points lead.  For tonight’s race, our NewzVroom Notables are Jesse Maurer and Aaron Bollinger. These two drivers have taken

the last 6 winged races at the track and have seemingly dominated the 2nd half of the season at the track. Bollinger was on a hot streak before last week’s incident but even before that was battling for the lead. He will need to gain every spot he can to try to win the championship, so look for him to be racing his way to the front. Maurer has won the last 2 winged races at Lanco and is coming off a win at Linda’s. He is possibly the hottest driver in the 600’s over the last month and even though he does not have a shot at the championship tonight he may just go get the weekend sweep. Our pick for tonight is going to be Jarid Kunkle for the win but Heath Hehnly for the championship. Kunkle has been so strong lately but just has not been able to put it in victory lane. Look for Kunkle to make one final shot at his 2nd win tonight and for Hehnly to take home another 600 championship at Lanco.

In other news: Path Valley is getting close to their end of season and Hayden Miller emerged last weekend with the points lead. With only a few events left, Miller will continue to be stalking Alec Quiggle on the track to keep the points lead. Our NewzVroom Notables for this race will be Miller and Garrett Bard, but we see Quiggle bouncing back after two weeks of some tough luck to make it into victory lane this evening. At GVAT, we had some great features last weekend and a tight wingless points championship emerging. Kenny Miller III  is quickly catching Jacob Balliet for the lead and Miller is looking for his second track championship of the season. After the way that Miller looked last weekend he is our favorite to win tonight, but the NewzVroom Notables will be Damon Paul and Billy Koch. Speaking of Paul, he was has been really strong in his winged car and made his way through the field last week after a less than ideal pill draw. He is our favorite to win the winged portion but NewzVroom Notables to watch are Cody Hauck who took home his second win of the year last week and Kenny Miller III. Another track that only has a few weeks left is Hamlin Speedway. Mick D’Agostino has a comfortable points lead but is still looking for his first win of the season. We expect him to get a win but not tonight. Colin White has had the hot hand as of late and after a runner up finish last week, we expect him to get the win this weekend. Last but not least we have Airport. Since they have upped the winner’s share up to $500, we have seen a fair share of invaders come in to steal that money from the locals. Last weekend it was Will Butler but maybe one of the locals such as Jimmy Glenn, the Scott Brothers, Chris Fenimore or Nathan Smith will get the win.
