Action Track Preview 8/14

8/14/2019: After a failed third attempt to have a winged 600 show at Action Track, the wingless 600s return to their typical slot in the schedule tonight. With a pretty good forecast, we should see racing tonight after the last wingless race was rained out. With last week’s rainout, that left tonight as the next to last race of the season at Action Track. Going into tonight, Billy Pauch Jr. has a 35 point lead over Kenny Miller III as both drivers have run away from the field for the chase for the championship. Tonight can definitely shake up the points standings as it will be paying $2K to win and 60 laps. With tonight being more of an endurance race than the typical night, the action may play more into the hands of the veterans as tire wear and consistency will be key to putting your car in victory lane. With that being said, here are our NewzVroom Notables and Pick For Tonight’s race.

We believe tonight is going to play into favor for the veterans and our NewzVroom

Notables will be Tim Buckwalter, Alex Bright and Eddie Strata. Buckwalter has hit his stride as of late with consecutive podiums and a win back on July 24th. Without the worry of being conservative and racing for a points championship, this could play nicely for Buckwalter as he tries to build off his Speedweek championship to another big pay day. Bright was your only two time winner of Speedweek and the last winner at Action Track. Just like Buckwalter, some early struggles have put Bright out of the points race but his recent performance has lead to a reemergence in the 600 scene. Bright’s teammate will be earlier winner Nash Ely and with those two together tonight, you may have a dominant pairing for this evening. Our last notable is Eddie Strada. Each week we have him as our favorite or notable driver and one of these weeks it has got to pay off for him. Starting position has been his biggest weakness so far this year but tonight he will have 60 laps to get to the front. If he has to fight his way through the field, will he have enough to contend in the end.

Pick Of The Night: Billy Pauch Jr. As Pauch is trying to sweep the 600 and SpeedSTR crowns at Action Track, a win tonight could make the finale a little bit easier on him. His experience in running lengthened races such as the SpeedSTR special events have definitely helped him in these longer events as he won the longest 600 race this season at Action Track in the King Of The Non Wing which was 40 laps long. Coming off his first non-podium since June, we expect Pauch to be back up front and be back in victory lane tonight.

On Thursday night we will be recapping the events from tonight and previewing this weekend’s events with NRN on their Facebook page!
