8/6/2019: After a grueling 5 nights of racing for the drivers and for our content feed, Speedweek is finally over and Tim Buckwalter has been crowned the 2019 champion. Last night NRN and NewzVroom did a review of 600 Speedweek here and interviewed the only 2 time winner of the week Alex Bright. Check this out to see us cover possible format changes, best battles and lessons learned from the week of racing. To put this intense week of racing into perspective, here are a few interesting statistics that came out of 600 Speedweek.
$100: 2 drivers came away with 2 NewzVroom Passing Point Awards. Damon Paul won it at Path Valley and Linda’s, while Eddie Strada won it at Action Track and Lanco
49: Different drivers made an A-Main during the 5 nights of racing
42: Passing points were accumulated by Kyle Spence in the A-Mains. Spence’s impressive charges were rewarded with the hard charger of the week (worth $1K and a MPi steering wheel). Below are your drivers that had positive passing points for the week.
8: Drivers made the A-Main every night. That list includes Kenny Miller III, Tommy Kunsman Jr., Eddie Strada, Damon Paul, Alex Bright, Christian Bruno, Aaron Bollinger and champion, Tim Buckwalter.
4: Speaking of Tim Buckwalter, Buckwalter had an average finish of 4th place throughout the week. Even more impressive is that hias average start was 8.8 which means he was passing about 5 cars a night. Below are the top 10 drivers in avg finish (minimum 2 races made).
3.8: Was the average start for the winner of the 5 nights of racing. Drivers love that wingless racing brings driver back into the equation and seeing drivers come from the 2nd row on back to win is great to see for the sport.
1: Driver won the race from the pole. This compliments the previous fact well and shows that the tracks each night gave the drivers a great surface and that there are a variety of tremendous drivers in the sport.
Now we move onto Action Track USA tomorrow. Look for our preview and predictions as we get back on our normal scheduel.
